  1. Xbox One - Error 0xc00d11cd (08000000e) - when trying to play media from external harddrive...

    Hi,

Whenever I try to play movies or videos from my external harddrive through the Media Player app, it crashes (sometimes immediately, sometimes 30 minutes in) and a message shows up saying:

"Sign In. Please try again. If the problem continues, visit www.xbox.com/support to check for guidance. 0xc00d11cd (08000000e)".

The harddrive I use is a Toshiba Canvio Basic USB 3.0 - NTFS format.

But I'm already signed in. So far I've tried:

    - signing out and then back in

    - uninstalling and then reinstalling the Media Player

    - restarting my Xbox One.

I'm not sure what else to do.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

Xbox One - Error 0xc00d11cd (08000000e) - when trying to play media from external harddrive through Media Player app.

Hi there! This is Ronnie, an independent advisor.

Nice to meet you and I hope you are having a great day!

I understand you need help with your media player problem.

If I may ask, does it happen to all the videos or games?

Try doing a reset on the console to see if this helps.

Let's refresh the console's system cache.

NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Select Settings.

    3. Select System.

    4. Select Console info

    5. Select Reset console.

    6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

This will also help sync the data on your console properly.

If the problem still persist, try playing games that are installed to your internal storage because if this is only happening to the installed games and media on the hard drive, this is a possible hard drive corruption.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello SethToth, what kind of flash drive are you trying to connect to your Xbox, 2.0 or 3.0?

If the flash drive is recognized by the console, tried to copy the image into the console and only then put the image as background?

If you could just give me more details.

Is there a way to save DVR clips to external hard drive?

If you have an external hardrive pluged in to your xbox one the system will then take the xbox ones main harddrive and use it for a backup for when your external harddrive becomes full. As far as takeing games and apps from the xbox one harddrive to an external
yes that can be done by going to the setting and goto system setting and click on manage storage and select your system storage

Mediaplayer and VLC Video playback issues

Hey Felix, I tried what you suggested and it didn't help.

I have done some digging around on the forums and evidently I'm not the only person with this issue.

It appears as though, despite Microsoft saying that Xbox One supports external hard drives, when it comes to media the support is pretty lacking.

Everything I've read regarding this type of problem with error code : 0xc00d11cd involves the drive having media totaling over 2 TB and anything added over the 2 TB mark yields this error and is unplayable.

Is there a way to make this work without having to reformat and partition my drive?

    Because if not that's BS.
