Xbox one Elite series 1 controller bug

The elite controller has the "profile" switch in the middle of the controller so you can change between two button layouts, it is also wired to the PC with the USB cable it came with.

My issue being on PC, it believes the profile 1 switch is the 'A' (B0) button and such is constantly on, when i switch to profile 2 the 'X' (B1) button is then constantly on with the 'A' button going back to normal so i do not believe it is sticky buttons at all.

When the controller is then unplugged from the PC it continues to think the button is still held down so i need to restart my PC to stop it.

This makes me believe its a software issue but after reinstalling any drivers turning off anything steam related i have had no luck in fixing the issue and need some assistance.

I am going to try see if the issue persists even on an xbox in which case it will come down to being the controller. I could not find any other threads with the same issue either on xbox or PC.

Edit: the issue persists on an xbox, i fear it is the controller being broken in some way, shape or form.

After testing with a different elite series 1 controller it does not have the same issue as the first.

Sorry to hear you are unsatisfied with the current Xbox controllers, however, the question forum is the incorrect place to post your feedback. Unless you are asking about current Xbox controller advancements in-which case that would be the Xbox Elite Controller
Series 1 and Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. The Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 being the newest on the market and being awarded,

Xbox elite series 1 doesn't.have bluetooth which came out after the first.gen xbox one controllers

The series.2 and.later xbox controllers have. Bluetooth

As mentioned before Mac doesn't.support elites 1

i have the elite controller series 1 and elite controller series 2 and the only thing interchangeable is the D-Pad IE:- if you want the silver one form the elite controller series 1 onto the series 2 ... the under trigers and thumbsticks are of a different
designs so will not fit .... i have just got both elite controllers out to make sure i am right in what i am saying

The controller is up to date according to multiple consoles. The issue still persists
