    Xbox One Elite powers on but won't bring up the menu, only a black screen. What gives?


    The power brick light is white, indicating it isnt an issue with the power supply.

    • I have rebooted numerous times to no avail

    • I have switched HDMI ports on my tv to no avail

    • I have unplugged the Xbox and power supply for 30s to no avail

    • I have repeatedly pressed the eject button to no avail

    • I have tried booting into low resolution to no avail

    • I have held the power button down for 10s to no avail

    Both the power supply and console have been unplugged since June and up until that time, it worked just fine. The HDMI ports on the tv work fine because the Xbox is detected but when I press the power button, the console turns on but the screen stays black.
    No picture or sound. It isn’t an issue with the HDMI cord because the tv wouldn’t detect the Xbox being connected.

    What gives?

    Going premium gives all MW3 DLC. Elite is only for Black Ops and MW3. That's as of now, no news on what the future will bring in term of Elite and premium membership.

    Same here, just updated my Xbox last night, everytime I start it up it only shows a black screen... Pressing home button only brings the shutdown menu, if I choose "report a problem" it shows the Xbox Feedback screen but then goes back to black

    Is it just a black screen that you get? Not sure if it's the same issue, but I get this sometimes as well. The way that I get around it is that it will still let me press the Home button on the controller, which will bring up the side bar menu on the left
    side of the screen, over the black screen. I'll then select Home from the menu, and it will freshly load the Home screen on the Xbox and there is no more black screen. Hopefully that works for you as well.

    Do you see anything at all when you press the white Home button on the controller? Sometimes when I start my Xbox One up, I get a black screen and I have to press the white Home button which will open the side bar menu. Then I press Home and it brings
    up the home screen. It's very strange but I get this black screen sometimes too.

    I've had a similar problem. I have the Xbox X and the Elite controller. A couple of times, tonight is one, I turn on the console and it only responds to pressing the Home button and a couple of navigation commands. Hold down the home button to bring up the
    power off console, controller, or report a problem menu, when one is highlighted it just blinks when pressing the A button. Only have had the X for a couple of weeks. Hasn't happened yet while I am doing something on the console. only after it is powered up.
