Xbox One Elite Controllers Not Sold In Stores

So I bought an Elite Controller when they first came out and got the 2 year warranty. I've had to use the warranty to get a replacement controller twice due the microphone port going bad, extending the warranty for the new controller each time. Now all
the stores around me don't sell the controllers in store anymore and only have them available online. I asked them why they weren't in store anymore and they ALL said the order to remove them from store came from Microsoft and all the product remaining in
store had to be shipped either back to Microsoft or to the store's corporate warehouses. I can't find anything online about why they have been pulled from stores and I'm tired of having to now wait 2-4 weeks for a replacement if my controller goes bad. What
is going on?

All repairs have to be sent in to Microsoft. That's standard practice. It's been that way for a long time. You can still buy Elite's at certain retailers. I guess your region just doesn't have any

I think a decent comparison would the Surface Pro (2017) Model, or the Kinect Adapter for the Xbox. Since they have released the updated version of the Xbox One Elite Controller, Store's stock would have been allocated to the warehouses that they have told
you. Stores tend to only keep updated stock in store, because they only have a limited amount of space for stock. This is why you are ending up needed to go through Xbox support to replace the controller. However, you can always speak to Xbox support to see
what other options they may have available.

I was notified by store employees that only the white elite controllers will be made now and thats why the store stock is so funky. I had the same issue when I was looking for one online and even white wasnt updated as in stock yet.

They still have them in stores here. Not sure what the story is. Maybe they'll announce an updated and better quality one soon?

But there is no updated version of the Elite Controller. If you're referring to the White Elite Controller, that is only available for purchase through GameStop so having the in-store stock of the original Elite Controller at other retailers would have
no effect. Besides, none of the stores have ANY version of the Elite Controller available for purchase in-store.
