Xbox One Elite Controller & Bose QC35II

Hey folks,

Was hoping to find some solutions for a problem that seems to be common, but widespread across multiple layers of forum posts. My Bose QC35 II headset will not play game audio, game chat, party chat, or allow me to speak when using the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord
plugged into my Xbox One Elite Controller. I have attempted changing the audio source, volume, editing settings with my $20 Sony Earbuds (which work without any issue for all sounds and party chat features) plugged in.

Before I go and buy every solution suggested on the wormhole of forums, I wanted to see if we could have some type of solid guidelines from Microsoft regarding this issue. Some of the suggestions I have seen include purchasing the In-line mic & controller
from Bose for the QC35, but it can’t seem to be agreed on to use the Apple-specific or Android-specific cord. I have also seen suggestions to use the stereo headphone adapter as well. If we could have a specific list of the necessary cords/adapters/magic spells
that would allow me to use these headphones, I would really appreciate any guidance.

XBox Elite Controller and Bose QC15

I have an Xbox elite controller and am looking for just game audio out of the 3.5 jack with my Bose QC15 headphones. I can't seem to get any audio to come through the headphones, but the controller works with a very old pair of non mic Apple headphones.
Any idea what my issue could be?

 

Elite controller and QC35s, no game sound

I've been successfully using my bose QC35 headphones with my Xbox 1S controller (model 1708) for the past couple of months, using the bose QC25 android cable with inline mic. They work fine for both party chat and game sounds.

Today I updated to an elite controller (model 1698), however, it does not seem compatible with the above setup. Using the elite controller I can only use it for party chat, and audio only comes through the left ear. I get no system sounds and no game sound.

With the 1s controller, on the headset sound settings tab I see three bars, headset volume, headset chat mixer and mic monitoring. With the elite controller I only see two, volume and monitoring.

I've tried resetting everything, controller firmware is on the latest version for both controllers, I've power cycled the Xbox and nothing.... an extensive google search and it seems this issue gets encountered a lot but without any resolutions.

Is there any reason why they are different? Both have the same built in 3.5mm jacks, so I assumed I wouldn't need the adaptor with the elite controller. Is anyone else using an non Microsoft headset with an elite controller? Did you experience similar issues,
and how did you resolve them.
