    ok so my xbox wifi connection keeps dropping every 5 mins

    there are 2 xboxes in the house but the other xbox has no issues

    there was no issues with them up until a few days ago.

    ive tried to open additional ports 88, 3074 etc on my router BT hub 6 but it hasnt made any difference. all the instructions say open ports and then thats it but my xbox isnt connecting to any of them

    The ports ive opened dont show up on the drop down list of ports on my xbox

    the ports listed are 52805 53384 54542 55121

    i am not a computer expert and all this computer jargon is giving me brain ache

    ive googled the fc1k out of it, spoke to my ISP

    and bar turning the thing on and off ive got no idea what im doing

    all i know is that it wasnt an issue 2 days ago now i cant game AT ALL even when im sitting watching the connection and not gaming its dropping out

    was strict the other day though thats why i googled about the port forwarding

    why would

    it all of a sudden have an issue?

    we had a power cut for about 5 hours around the same time it started going wierd, not an issue for a couple of days after that though.

    ive spoken to plusnet who supply our broadband and they have no issues and not showing any issues since the power cut.

    ive just divided the 2.4ghz & 5ghz internet settings on bt hub with my brothers xbox on 2.4ghz and mine on the 5 and see how that goes.

    My brother moved his xbox nearer the router because he was having the same issue.

    now my xbox is effected

    I am having the same issue where my wired connection drops after 2 or 3 seconds. When I go to setup my wireless connection it says I have a wired connection. Oddly I was able to download updates with no problems, but cannot play games as xbox live drops
    every time the connection drops. I suspect that it is a software/driver issue as I have no problems with the xbox one.
