    My Xbox 360 died, so I bought a new Xbox One. It plays the old 360 games in normal mode, but when I try to switch on the 3D mode, it says it has detected that my tv is NOT a 3D tv, and will not allow me to change the setting from 2D to 3D. But my tv is
    a 3D tv, Panasonic Viera, one of the first. The xbox 360 ran them just fine. And the Xbox One plays 3D DVD just fine. I have several old 360 3D games, but none of them will let me switch the setting to 3D because it says it can tell my tv is not 3D. And I
    do have the 3D setting of the Xbox One turned on, it plays the DVD's just fine, just not the old 3D 360 games. Two of them are Halo Anniversary and COD Black Ops 2. Will play in 2D, but will not let me turn on 3D option, saying my tv is not a 3D tv, but plays
    3D DVD's ok??? Why would it not be able to tell its a 3D tv when the games in, but is able to tell when the DVD is in? Is the 360 HDMI cable any different that the Xbox One HDMI cable? I left the 360 cable on since it snaked through my wall. But the cable
    worked with the 360 and it works wit the DVD. Please let me know if there is a fix for this. I'd hate to think I can never play 3D games again.

    Thanks for replying. But it does not help. The video is about the Xbox 360. I loved the Xbox 360. It played my 3D games on my 3D tv just fine for years. It is the Xbox One X I have the problem with. The Xbox 360 was the greatest 3D playing machine I owned,
    until it broke. When I put those exact same game disks in the Xbox One X, it does not work. Will play it in 2D , but not 3D, like the Xbox 360 did so well.

    Thanks for the update. I was going through Gears 3 the other day and couldn't get it to work on my One X either.

    I have an update. Not all the 3D games do not work, just some. The ones that you have to put the 3D tv into side by side 3D mode MANUALLY works fine. The ones that do an auto-detect of the 3D tv do not work in 3D, just 2D. The ones that DO work are Gears
    of War 3 and Crysis and Crysis 2. The ones that DO NOT work are Halo Anniversary and COD Black Ops 2.

    Thanks for replying. Does not help though. My games are 3D games. Played them for years on the Xbox 360 just fine. I was in 3D heaven, until Xbox One X. Why would they work fine for years on the Xbox 360 but not the Xbox One X? The Xbox One X will play
    them in 2D, but not 3D. I wish I had my Xbox 360 back.

    Black ops2 works on my Xbox one x in 3d when I hooked it up to my Sony bravia 3d tv. As does ac3.

    It's a passive 3d system(non powered glasses)

    Might be settings issue on tv?
