xbox one does not output any signal

After nearly 3 years my xbone just died. First it freezed with the green screen of death, and then after a restart there was no signal anymore. I tried all kinds of resets and restarts but no signal. When it is on, you hear clicking sounds, so I presume
the hard disk has died. The xbone brick is not frequently used, so it shows what acrappy device it is, less then 3 years, not heavily used, and broke. Microsoft gives no support outside the America first area, so I have to go to the local reseller...There
is no proper advice on the MS websites only the usual suspects...According to othe xbone users, this will cost me at least 150 Anerica first dollars, so I will just throw the thing away and rely on my ribust trustable PS4!

Does it also support 480p? The Xbox One can't output interlaced signals.

Have you tried using another HDMI cord or another power supply unit to see if that helps?

I would also try plugging in your Xbox to another wall socket in another part of your home.

From the way you described it.. it sounds like it could be multiple issues.

If you do decide to repair it you can save money by setting up the repair on your own

by going to Device service and repair
. You actually save $20 by doing on your own as opposed to an Xbox Live voice agent

setting it up for you.

I have tried the xboxe one on another location with another HDMI and another Television and still nothing, no signal.

What bothers me:

- my old xbox 360 was intensively used for nearly 5 years, my desktop PC is used for 6+ years intensively, my PS4 is used for 4+ years intensively, and all without any issues like HDD etc and now I have an XBone for nearly 3 years and not frequently used
and it just breaks down

- the xbone does not tell me anything, no signals, no visuals, nothing...quite strange (read stupid) for this machine

- support just passes me through to the US, where I do not live, so what then...not really good customer support I must say, increases my America first impression, hello, there is also a whole continent called Europe, full of customers, but without support
sites...

- and then...the cost...after a lot of browsing this sounds like a problem that will cost me 150+ dollars, far above the market value.

All above, including online suggestions (not helpful at all and all the same) leads me to the conclusion: no xbox one xxx for me anymore, negative advice to all my friends and complete switch over to the other brand!

After minutes of browsing, I finally found a so called phone number (24-7 support) for my country, see below, but I was passed through to an English speaking person (certainly not in Europe and maybe nit even from Microsoft) that said he knows nothing about
xbox...Please Microsoft, “do not suggest support that even isnt there”, shameful...So my conclusion: the so called xbox support does not exist in my country and (reasonable extrapolation) not in Europe, but is just a pass through to a call centre with nono’s....

Thank you for at least having a number for support in, at least I assume, in my country. I will contact this nr and ask for advice.

One other thing,

Microsoft offers warranty for only 1 year and also from the moment of creation not the moment when it is sold to a costumer...Luckily Europeam legislation protect its civilions better than US does and enforces 2 year warranty from the moment when it is sold.
Furtermore, 3 years is mentioned as reasonable and expectable for most devices..Interesting, while knowing that my xbox one is less than 3 years old from the moment that it is sold to me

So please give proper advice about warranty on your website:

- warranty term is dependent on the country where it is sold

- the term must start from the moment of the device being sold to a user, not some other term (eg moment of creation)

As epilogue before having, assumably regretful result of the advice, my conclusions:

- xbox one broke after less than 3 years without much usage

- support initially seems not to be properly organized outside US, but I will try the given phone nr. Websites are a mess with too many steps without the proper phone nrs outside US and with a lot of clicking around repeating the same questions over and
over

- warranty term not properly communicated and focused on US and seems to be related to moment of shipping to the reseller instead of moment of buying

- repair cost may be higher than value.....
