Xbox one do not turn on

i have a xbox one day one edition.

A few days ago the power supply (brick) started to make a whining sound and therefore i turned the console off to investigate.

I found nothing wrong, but now the console will not turn back on again.

The light on the power supply is orange, but when i connect it to my xbox, it turns off and is neither white or orange.

If i try to disconnect it for 10 seconds, it turns orange again, but once i connect ot to the xbox it turns off again.

The supply is not connected to an outlet with surge protection, so that is not the issue either.

I have seen that other people have this issue as well, but their supply starts working again, after unplugging it a few times.

Does anyone have any clues what might caise this? Due to the whining sound it would be logical to think that the suplly is dead, but i am not sure.

Xbox One will not turn on

I unplugged everything, but the surge protector earlier. When I unplugged the surge protecter it worked. Not sure why, because I was getting power. It is fixed and that is all that matters. Thank you for your help.

Okay, well, that's number one - it definitely shouldn't be plugged into a power strip - you said you've unplugged it - did you also unplug from the back of the console? If not, please do that, and then, have you tried plugging into a wall outlet now, to
see what happens? It could just be that one outlet on the strip went bad from pulling too much wattage, or that the system and power brick were having to work too hard to draw enough power. I'm hoping that plugging straight into a wall will resolve the issue.

If you plug into a wall and get the same results (flashing white, or no light at all) then the next step is going to be to try a different power supply - do you have any friends or family that use Xbox One? If so, you could borrow their power supply and
try using it in place of yours. If the console powers up, then there is a problem with your power supply, and you will need to report it to Microsoft Support for service.

If you try someone else's power supply and STILL get no response, then, to me, that sounds like a problem with the console itself, and unfortunately that, too, will need to be reported for service.... :-(

 

Sounds that the supply, or rather the fan in the supply has breathed it's last. Try another supply, you can often find one on ebay, Amazon or even Gamestop.
