Xbox One Display Not Working

Hello

I have a Xbox One X console and have it hooked up to a Dell Montior via a VGA to HDMI adapter due to said monitor not supporting HDMI. The HDMI side of the adapter is plugged into the HDMI OUT slot. And the VGA side is tightly secured into the VGA slot on the monitor. The console is working but no display is appearing on the monitor

What do I do?

Edit: For those wondering. No the adapter is not broken as it works with other electronics I have tested

No data is sent back to the Xbox about the capabilities of the display

You would need a much, much more expensive converter box in order to create a compatible signal

Any monitor that doesn't have an HDMI in or at least display port, you probably need to replace anyway as it's about 20 years old.

I highly recommend you purchase a television, not a monitor. Monitors have lots and lots of compatibility issues because of all the cheats they use to make them seem like they're more capable than they are.

This could be caused by two things: Either the HDMI cable became loose or defective, and the TV can't make any sense of the garbled digital data coming in via HDMI, so please check if the cable became loose on the TV or the console, and if the cable works
on another HDMI device (e.g. BluRay Player or TV Set-Top Box or a Laptop).

If the cable is not defective, eject any discs from the console and then hold the power button for about 15 seconds to completely shut down the console (and not only putting it in connected standby).

After the console has shut down, hold down the eject button, and then turn on the console on the console's power button, while keeping eject held down.

The console will chime normally when you press the power button, and then about 10 seconds later, chime a second time. When the console chimes a second time, let go of eject.

If the console now shows a working image, go to the console settings, and set the resolution back to High Definition resolutions (depending on your TV to 720p, 1080p or 4K).

On your Xbox One, in the Advanced Display settings, set allow YCC 4:2:2 to enabled. This allowed 10bit color to work on my display.
