    XBox One Developer Mode

    Hi All,

    I am a Quality Assurance Tester and I need to get my XBox One Dev kit up and going, so that I can QA my clients test builds.

    Right now I am completely unable to get the XBox One Manager Tool to detect / communicate with my Dev Kit, which is preventing me from loading any builds.

    However, the XBox One Dev Mode Companion (preview) tool works without any problem.

    I am running Febuary 2015 XDK QFE1: Version 6.2.1.3.6 on my XBox One Dev Kit

    I am running ADK 6.2.12136.0 on my Windows 10 Machine

    Both machines are hooked up to the same switch via Ethernet.

    I have no Firewalls or security blocking traffic.

    When I try to run the ADK commands (xbconnect, xbprovision) I get this error (0x8000001E). I also get this error when trying to get the XBox One Smart Glass to connect.

    Might be note worthy that I am able to run the Xbox Neighborhood Tool and deploy builds to my XBOX 360 Dev Kit without any issues at all, and have been doing so for years... Its just this XBOX One that is being a problem.

    Any help would be very much appreciated!

    We would not recommend enabling developer mode on the console, unless you are a developer who is in the process of creating a new application.

    Additionally, the developer mode for the Xbox One console would not allow others to install a virus on accounts. We'd recommend reading over the

    Developer Mode Activation App FAQ     for further clarification in regards to this.

    In Developer Mode, you can develop software for the console, but you cannot play retail games or run retail apps.
    Developer Mode can be enabled on any retail
    Xbox One console. After Developer Mode is enabled, you

    Where did you hear it was going to be free? I find that extremely unlikely that they would ever do such a thing

    Just so that you're aware, developer mode is specifically to develop your own software. Any other uses is a violation of terms of service and can lead to account and hardware bans.
