Xbox One & Dell Zino HD (WMC) IR Blaster questions / problem

Ok I have Dell Zino HD that is a WMC (Dell's Purpose built WMC). It comes with a Philips RC260 remote. and Intelliremote see it as a Philiips IR Dongle for the receiver.

HOWEVER, I can't seem to get my Xbox One to control it. I have it set as "Media Center PC" for the Cable/Satellite portion of the set up. and it does nothing. I even took the Zino HD and face the IR receiver pointing at the Kinect unit and still nothing.

Anyone know the correct "remote code" for Media Center PC or the Philips IR Dongle?

If not, I am willing to spend $30 to get a USB IR Receiver, as long it will work with Xbox One.

    TIA

    :)

  2. Xbox One Live TV OTA Support

I'd really like an OTA solution here. I've got a SiliconDust HD Homerun tuner which I've hooked up to a Dell PC with Windows Media Center as my DVR. The PC is connected through the HDMI pass through so I can still control the PC with the Mouse.

I'm wondering if I got an IR receiver for the PC, would it work? (one of the drop-down selections is Dell Media Center PC). And would I then be able to control the WMC through the XB1?

    Hey Zombie,

(Note, WMC is technically unsupported). I have a WMC HTPC set up at home. I have HDMI working and I can IR blast to control it. What are you having trouble setting up?

Confirmed: No Media Centre Extender... No Backwards Compatibility... No Deal.

So much for the One being an "all in one entertainment system". They actually think that the HDMI input an IR blaster are the future? Wow, what a joke! I was considering getting an Xbox One shortly after launch if it included WMC, but now I don't see much
of a point and I'll probably stick with just the PS4.

Xbox Does Not Turn on TV

Hi, if it is an Original Xbox One you would need an IR blaster, like the one built into kinect. If it is an S or X the IR blaster is built in.

Xbox one x audio out IR?

IR out: Infrared output port for IR blaster (optional; IR blaster not included).

The IR port is designed to control devices via an IR transmitter such as a home theater system.

    IR extension cables etc.

    IR Blaster help

    Hello SparkierFlame54,

I have done some work in the past with IR codes and blasters. However, I have to ask a few questions. Are your expecting the same IR code to be transmitted on both blasters at the same time regardless of the IR codes need for the two devices? Do you have
an Xbox One or One S? If you have an One S, have you tried using the IR blaster on the front of the Xbox to see if IR bounce and scatter can control the two devices? If you have
Xbox One, do you have a Kinect, and have you tried the same IR bounce and scatter technique? With all that said, the answer to "splice in some more wire" is yes. If you make sure to maintain polarity, i.e. don't switch the wires, the only problem
you may have is some signal loss and a weaker output of the blasters.

Now, I can't recommend anything, but doing a quick search I was able to find an "Xbox One Ir Extender Blaster Cable (2 Head, 10 Foot)" at the Web site of a very famous online retailer....

    Good luck and good gaming,
