XBOX One crashing when switching back to a game from apps such as YouTube and the web browser.

I have two XBOX’s one is an One and the other is an S. One in America and one in Canada, both I use monthly. The problem started in the last month or so on both systems. When I am playing a game I tend to leave it running in the background when I am useing
apps such as youtube, netflix and the web brouser. The issue begins when I try to switch back to the game after spending an hour or more useing other apps. What happens is when I try to go back to the game the screen goes black and the system will eventualy
crash. This happens even if I first exit the game and “Quit” it from the home screen. Had an XBOX for 3 years and have never has thus issue before. I assume that the last update messed thungs up else it is pure coincidence that thus has happened on both systems
at the same time.

Can i use my xbox to get online?

Hi SlouchyToaster4- Currently there is no web browser on the Xbox 360 console at this time. There are web enabled apps such as Facebook, Twitter and more comming such as YouTube in future updates... But there is no web browser.

 

Xbox one S random crashes

i got the same problem with the xbox one s..keeps crashing after switching between apps and games...mostly when i'm useing or have used youtube and then go back to game its crashes 99% of the time...but not only with youtube but its the most common

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Have you tried
Power cycling your console if so I would recommend
Soft factory reset Just make sure when resetting your console to factory defaults to select the
Keep my games & Apps option and resetting to factory defaults will remove your profiles (Gamertags) from the console so make sure you have your emails and passwords before resetting.

You can also report this problem using the Xbox Insider Hub app so we can investigate it further:

1. On your console, install the
   Xbox Insider Hub app (if you don’t already have it).
   
2. Hold down the Xbox button on the controller.
3. On the power menu, select Report a problem.
4. Describe the problem in detail, including when it happened, if you saw any specific error codes or messages, and if you were using any specific games, software, hardware, or accessories when you encountered the problem.
