    Xbox One could not get IPv6 address


    Hello,

    I am running Xbox OS :10.0.18362.3055(19h1_release_xbox_dev_1905.190510-1845) version.

    From other commands (also, from tcpdump), I have confirmed that our gateway assigns an IPv6 address to Xbox. But from Network->"Advanced Settings", I only have IPv4 address.

    The following is from tcpdump messages(2620:107:9000:212f::7656) , but no IPv6 address is displayed from Network->"Advanced Settings":

    We are also testing (Xbox OS :10.0.18362.2018(19h1_release_xbox_dev_1904.190410_184), and are seeing the same problem (no IPv6 address displayed on the Network menu).

    Has anyone seen this issue?

    How can we debug this issue ? Any procedure/commands to trouble shoot this issue?

    1. I am using ethernet connection (not wifi) to the router.

    2. I have both my Windows 10 pc and Xbox on connected to my router.

    My Windows 10 PC can get IPv6 address without any issue, but only Xbox does not get IPv6 address.

    What is the procedure to reset the xbox network settings (from which user menu)?

    G'day,

    Regarding IPv6 address. Contact your ISP to see if they provide it and get them to enable it if they do.

    If you have had IP6 address in the past you can clear your MAC address but using System Turn off console should do the same thing.

    I would use Settings >Power+startup and do a full shutdown. Remove power cable from console to clear cache and reboot router and wait... until router is fully operational before you power up the console.. So order of power up is Router>TV>AVR (if using)
    then XBox console last of all.

    I strongly recommend using a wired network instead of WiFi to connect to XBL via the router.

    Have you tried having only the Xbox connected without the PC online?
    Yes. I have tried connecting Xbox only to the router (without the PC online), and Xbox still has IPv4 address.
