Xbox One Controlling Xbox 360

I use my 360 as a WMC extender with an IR remote and it works great, but I was wondering if anyone has configured the Xbox One to send IR signals to the 360; being able to use voice commands like pause and play would great.

I now the 360 has a very short IR range which is why I am using an IR blaster emitter right now, but the one I have won't work with the IR extension port on the Xbox One (the X1 needs a 3.5mm, but the one I have is 2.5mm).

So my question has 2 parts:

1) Has anyone successfully configured the X1 to control the 360? If so, what options did you choose when you set up the devices? There is a Media Center PC device in the setup options of the X1, is that the best option?

2) What kind of IR extender do you recommend? Do you have one that works for you? I'd like to get something that someone can confirm works with the X1.

Windows 10

Was it the official Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller? For the Xbox 360 wireless controller, an adapter is required. For Xbox One, the original Xbox One controller will only work when wired. For the One S controller, you can connect it via bluetooth.

Suggestion: Plug in 360

the 360 has an ir port, i wonder what controls can be received, I wonder if Kinect can forward controller info from the xbox one to the 360 to control it

A 360 controller will work with a 360 console, and an Xbox one controller will work with an Xbox One, but a 360 controller will not work with an Xbox One and vice versa.

I would say the xbox one controller is better for fortnite and since the 360 controller people still use today for Gta 5 but that is only on the Xbox 360, because Xbox 360 controllers do not work on
an Xbox One, so you'll need an Xbox One controller. You cannot use an Xbox 360 controller to play games on an Xbox One.

I wish you could use a Xbox 360 controller on the Xbox one controller. I like my
Xbox 360 controller more then my Xbox one controller. i don't think anyone(Microsoft of controller
manufacturers) will do Backward compatible controllers.

No. The Xbox 360 controllers use the Xinput API which is the same thing Xbox One controllers and other Xinput compatible controllers use.

For Xinput compatible controllers from other manufacturers, Windows 10 will either see them as an Xbox 360 or an Xbox One controller, it depends on the age of the controller.
