Xbox One Controller Wont Connect to PC with USB cord

My controller wont sync and connect but it will plugged in with a micro usb cord.

Having to play with it plugged in stinks.

If this is a normal xbox one controller for example a wireless one that takes batteries in the back. Don't use a bluetooth usb. I suggest just a usb cord like a andriod phone cord. That's what I use, and it directly connects to the usb insert on the top
of the controller and it'll show it's connected with solid light of the controller. Be advised you will have to re-sync the controller to your xbox when you're done.

its a normal xbox controller and im trying to use it with a usb because my pc cant do bluetooth but when i plug it in the xbox light just flashes

When a cord is connected to the Xbox One controller it turns off the wireless function to work as a wired controller. Because of this the suggestion of using a USB wall charger
WILL NOT work.

The only way that you can use your Xbox One Controller on a W10 PC and play Xbox whilst charging the controller at the same time is to stream the game to your PC with the Xbox App if your PC meets the minimum requirements for it. If you don't want to do
this then the only thing to do is just connect a USB directly from your Xbox to your controller
