Xbox One Controller Won't Connect to Laptop

It is possible the USB cable you're trying to use wasn't designed to transmit data - only charge whatever it is plugged in to. If you can, try to find another micro-USB you can use for your controller. Alternatively, if your laptop is Bluetooth enabled, you
can connect your controller wirelessly using that method.

That is assuming of course that you have a Bluetooth controller. Remember some of the older Xbox one controllers were not set up that way

Here are the steps you can follow to connect multiple Xbox controllers to your laptop:

Install the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows on your laptop: The Xbox Wireless Adapter allows you to connect up to 8 Xbox Wireless Controllers to your laptop without the need for a USB cable.

Turn on the Xbox controller: Press and hold the Xbox button on the controller until the controller turns on.

Put the controller in pairing mode: Press and hold the sync button on the top of the controller until the Xbox button begins to flash rapidly.

Connect the controller to your laptop: Go to your laptop's settings, select "Devices," and then select "Bluetooth & other devices." Your laptop should now discover the Xbox controller and you can select "Pair" to connect the controller to your laptop.

Repeat steps 2-4 for each additional controller: You can connect up to 8 Xbox controllers to your laptop.

Launch the game you want to play: You should now be able to use multiple controllers to play games on your laptop.

I mean the Xbox SmartGlass app on your laptop or PC . I 've read that a xbox 360 controller can be used for xbox one when you connect it to your laptop or PC when you are streaming your Xbox one to your laptop or PC . but It doesn't work.

So if I understand you correctly, you are streaming from your console to your laptop, and you have your controller connected to the laptop with your earbuds connected to the controller?

How is your controller connected to the laptop? Via MicroUSB cable or via the Xbox wireless adapter for Windows 10?
