XBOX One controller update failing

Discus and support XBOX One controller update failing in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; My XB1 says a firmware update is needed for my controllers.     XBOX One controller update failing


    My XB1 says a firmware update is needed for my controllers. When I try to apply the update (over wifi or over USB) it fails without showing any more details. No error code, just says something to the effect of "an error occurred".

    The controllers are model 1537.

    Xbox Controller not turning on after update

    I just bought a new afterglow headset for my xbox one and started the controller update. after I clicked accept, my controllers power light went out. The update kept failing and my controller wouldn't turn on so I shut my console off to restart it and now
    my [Mod Removed] controller is frickin working and I'm getting realllly *** off. Please tell me how to fix this so I don't have to waste another $60 on a stupid controller that your console just ruins

    Exactly same problem with you guys. My brand new Xbox Elite Controller failed to update twice and now it kind of "brick". These are the exact descriptions for those who might concern:

    - First time plugin ever, the controller vibrated a little and the XBox Accessories saw my controller but failed to update.

    - Second time, unpluged and pluged in as the app tell me to, the controller still vibrate a little, the app saw my controller, still failed to update, although the process bar did progress further than first time.

    - Third time unpluged and pluged in, no vibrate this time and the app did not recognise my controller. Symptoms exactly like "MY Ryunam".

    After digging through countless posts about kind of similar problems with XBox One Controller (not Elite). I found one potential solution is that I will need an XBox One Console, plug my controller to it and hope it will continue to perform the update correctly.
    Problem is I do not have an XBox One Console so I cannot tell if this work or not.

    Hey there SparseStatue335,

    Sorry to hear about the issue with the controller. It sounds like the controller failed on the update, so we'd suggest trying to update it again. If that fails we'd suggest exchanging it for a new one at the retailer to get you back in the game quickly.

    Do you have a friend with an xbox one so you can try to update your controller with the headset on the other console.

    If the update fail, the headset is broken (it's happen..) and you have to contact your supplier to get a replacement.

    If updating your controller fails I suggest trying an adapter for your controller if you have one. It might help with your situation
