    Xbox One Controller Stereo Adapter


    So I have an adapter that works but doesn't play game audio. The "testing volume" works (Pressing the volume button until it makes a beeping noise indicating its at max volume). If it plug in my headset directly into the controller it works just fine. But I have another remote that the adapter that just works fine and plays audio with no issue.

    How do we update the controller? NO USB Cable comes with Xbox One.

    About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

    This is from:
    support.xbox.com/.../update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

    So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

    If I understand your question...

    Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

    A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

    (The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

    The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too
