Xbox One controller smoking!!!!

I normally use re-chargable batteries for my Xbox controller, and the specific brand ive been using works completely fine. Around 2 months ago, the baggeries for my controller died. So i decided to plug the controller straight into the Xbox. And it started
smoking!!! I had to get a new one because of this. And now 2 months later, im having the same problem with my new controller. My batteries died, i plugged it into my Xbox, it started smoking, and now it wont turn on. I didnt think it was the Xbox that was
causing this at first cause the first controller was 3 years old. BUT THIS IS A REOCCURING PROBLEM!!! Can i please get some help??

Don't worry, you can even get this problem fixed for free. I will tell you how.

First, you need to verify if your controller has a warranty. To do that, go to this website: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/controller-warranty And
check if your controller has a warranty if it doesn't have a warranty please contact Microsoft.

I had a very rare occasion once where i plugged my controller in to update when i bought my xbox one S the controller overheated and the controller started smoking , never freaked out so much in my life , took it back to where i bought it and they didnt
believe me until they smelt smoke coming from inside the controller

Glad to hear there is not currently a fire in progress! Since contacting Microsoft support, registering your accessory, and/or the many other astute suggestions have all turned out to be a hassle or require you to be proficient at jumping through an incredulous
amount of hoops that are no doubt now interfering with your regularly scheduled gaming time you should just resort to making sure the batteries in your smoke detectors are brand new and then play on! Controllers catching fire sounds like a class-action lawsuit
in the making. Also, be sure to purchase your new necessary accessory before playing for extended periods of time -- 🧯! 😏&#55356;�🔥 Also check your smoke alarm to see if there is a fire. Lol there is no fire 😂

Xbox accessories have a 90-day warranty, if it is still within this period, try again later as the service sometimes fails.
If it does not comply with the warranty you must pay for the repair.
