Xbox One controller problem making console unusable

    Xbox One controller problem making console unusable


    Hi, me and my girlfriend both get this problem across both our xboxs quite often. Essentially the controller will just constantly move itself downwards as if the left joystick was being pulled down. I know this sounds like stick drift but it isnt because
    even when the left dpad is moved up as well as the joystick it still trys to move down. It moves down menus so fast it is essentially impossible to do anything. It cant be a hardware issue as it happens with both our controllers on both our xboxs. It can sometimes
    stop too making it even more unlikely to be a hardware issue, any help is appreciated as it is making both of our lives a pain thanks.

    Update: The problem persists with a laptop as the HDMI source in place of a cable box. Problem persists. In this case I'm using the provided cable to make the connection between a PC and the xbox one.

    Problem is almost certainly with the xbox one..... Please release a patch soon, this makes a key feature of the box unusable....

    HDMI in and Toslink out.

    Nevermind. I was able to test this myself, and the sound from the HDMI in transfers out on Toslink flawlessly. The only problem with this setup is that the Xbox 360 video, when routed through the ONE, is lagged behind controller input by about a half a second.
    This effectively makes this setup unusable for practical gaming. Also the video quality seems fairly degraded.

    Street Fighter completely wore down one of my controller's left stick, it only took 2 months of play before it became completely unusable. FPS games aren't such a problem for controllers.

    Xbox Series X (Maybe One/One X too) stops recording when controller disconnects

    Thank you for the response but my controller is completely up to date. It actually just happened for the first time again with the xbox one x controller I was using. I think it's built in to the xbox series x/one x/one to stop recording if the controller is disconnected which causes this issue and makes the footage unusable. Not sure if you have a fix for that in particular but if not it seems it will continue to be an issue.

    It doesn't work properly. The Xbox sends extra commands after channel changes that causes problems with Cox making it basically unuseable without having your remote which kills the whole point of the Xbox one.
