Xbox one controller on AndroidTV disconnects/unpairs after reboot or sleep

    Setup:

    ------

    Xbox one controller (Bluetooth version)

Sony XBR55X900E (or any X900E) smart TV with AndroidTV (v7.0)

    ------

Sorry for the long post.... TLDR at end

    The good:

I am able to pair and connect my bluetooth xbox one controller to my sony TV running AndroidTV (sometimes has trouble finding the device and sometimes fails to pair but always works eventually). Once paired it works fine, I can play games or use it on things
    like SteamLink.

    The problem:

Once I am done playing, and I turn my controller off, and subsequently my TV, the next time I turn the TV on, and turn my controller on (usually Bluetooth devices will then reconnect to the TV) the controller fails to connect to the TV. It immediately goes
into "slow flash" on the xbox button, which I presume means it has no connection. Going into Bluetooth settings on the TV, it is not connected. A device named "Xbox one controller" still exists in the Bluetooth devices list, but it's options are either "unpair"
or "reconnect". Reconnect option just says failed to reconnect. And unpair obviously unpairs it. I am unable to re-pair the device until I have unpaired the old one. This issue will occur any time I restart the TV or put it to sleep. Even leaving the controller
on, and turning the TV off, the controller immediately goes into "slow flash" and turning the TV on it never connects again.

    Further information:

This does not seem to be a Bluetooth problem with the TV, I own two of the tvs (a 65 and 55), and it occurs on both in the same way. Other Bluetooth devices do not exhibit this behaviour, my Steam controller reconnects just fine, my phone reconnects, my
Bluetooth speaker reconnects. Only the Xbox controller fails to reconnect.

I have replaced the batteries on the controller, I have updated the controller on my PC using Xbox Accessories, I have factory reset the TV. All signs seem to point to an issue with the controller software itself. Have seen suggestions of this problem existing
on nVidia Shield (androidTV) as well?

TLDR: Can connect controller to androidTV via Bluetooth. After tv reboots, controller has to be re-paired to tv

    :)

unpairing a controller from xbox 360

Is there a way to unpair a controller from xbox 360? my son (1 yr old) wants to press all the buttons and see lights flashing (and won't accept one with battery removed). If it can be unpaired, then he can have his way and i can go on my merry way Xbox one controller on AndroidTV disconnects/unpairs after reboot or sleep :)

    Thanks!

Xbox One S: random reboot/complete shutdown when goes to sleep mode!

    Hi everybody,

I have the new Xbox One S for 2 weeks (2To edition).

Since the beginning i have noticed some troubles when i put it in sleep(instant) mode. Sometimes the console randomly reboots or goes in complete shutdown instead of go in sleep mode. When this trouble occurs, i have also noticed that the controller continues
to blink after shutdown and in this case i can't turn on the xbox from the controller : i have to push the xbox button on the console.

I tried to reboot several times.

I tried to clear cache by following these solutions :

    - power off + disconnect power + wait 5 minutes

    - shut down holding 5 seconds controller menu button and xbox start button.

This trouble can occur evenf if no game/app is running. And it's very embarassing when a game is running because in this case i loose not saved data...

Apart from that the console works very well : no network disconnection, no controller disconnection, no game crash, etc.

I am disappointed because with my old Xbox One, everything worked fine and i hadn't any troubles like that...

Is anybody having the same problem ?

Do you think it's a hardware issue or maybe a firmware issue ? I hope it will be resolved in the future update...

Thank you very much in advance.

PS: sorry, my English is not very good.

Xbox one controller on AndroidTV disconnects/unpairs after reboot or sleep

    Hello

Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention here on the forums. I understand you've been able to use an Xbox Wireless controller to control a third party TV through the Bluetooth is that correct? Do you have this same issue when linking the controller
to the Xbox One or Windows 10 PC? The controller working with the Smart TV is actually pretty cool but not what the controller was designed to do so it may be a slight compatibility issue.

    Thanks again for reaching out

Your welcome, I just thought it was an issue worth addressing. Most controllers work with it so I was hoping my favorite controller would as well!

I do not have the same issue when connecting to my windows 10 PC. Once paired it will always connect after I turn on the controller. However in my testing I did find one issue (which may be related?). When the controller is paired and connected, and i power
cycle my computer while leaving the controller turned on, the controller does not connect once the computer reboots. It just stays in a "slow flash" until i then power cycle the controller, then it connects.

Xbox controller won't connect to my computer wireless

i have tried unpairing and pairing up again but the thing is after i unpair it it just doesn't show up any more. And then after i uninstall my bluetooth dongle and reinstall it again it installs an xbox controller with it while my xbox controller isn't even
    turned on!

i will try to find a manufacterer driver but it's from csr so i doubt i'll find one.

How do i unassign a headset from my Xbox One?

    Hi Jamie,

If holding the power button on the headset does not unpair the headset to the Xbox, then the headset was probably not design to be able to unpair but only be paired to another Xbox. Since it uses the same connection as the Xbox One controllers, it may act
the same way in that you can't necessarily unpair your controller from your Xbox, you can only pair the controller with another console. The controller will always try and find the console it last connected to or a new console searching for a controller to
pair, and the headset probably behaves in this same manner. It seems like if an unpair feature was available, it would be a button on the headset or a specific sequence but that would be something you would need to contact SteelSeries about.

Xbox Controller can't connect to multiple bluetooth paired devices

Hi! I'm Rostom, an Independent Advisor. I will be glad to help you here.

If you want to switch a device to use with your controller, simply disconnect the bluetooth connection of the current one and try connecting it with the other one. There's no need to unpair & pair gain.
