    Xbox One controller not responsive on PC


    I've recently been trying to connect my Xbox One controller to my PC in order to play a couple games, namely Apex Legends and Halo Wars 2. For both games, when I initially connect the controller it functions as planned for a short period of time. After a
    couple of minutes however the controller begins to drift and is generally unresponsive to my inputs. This makes the games nearly unplayable.

    I've tried connecting the controller both with bluetooth and with a cable, and in both cases the same outcome happened. I also attempted to update the drivers on the controller from the device manager but to no avail.

    Any input on what might be causing this issue and how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated.

    So, if you are connected via bluetooth, this is an ongoing issue for some time. I notice trying to play the new COD on PC using a controller. However, if I plug it in to USB it works as it should. Not sure if it's a windows thing, or a controller thing.
    but MS hyping the ability to use your xb1 controllers over bt on PC is garbage if it does not work as advertised. I've tried the BT built into my Aorus x570 Ultra and I've also disabled the built in and used a usb dongle bt adapter with the same problem.

    Hi TheMinarch,

    Sorry to hear you are having issues. You mention device manager but have you downloaded the Xbox Accessories app? That is where you would update the controller on PC. Check out the Update
    your Xbox Wireless Controller     support page.

    Unfortunately, the controller is still not detectable by my PC.

    Tried using the Xbox accessories app and was prompted to "connect an xbox one controller to start", no response when i did so.
