    Hello,

    Recently, I had plugged in the controller I usually use to the Xbox One S via micro USB. 100% of the time until now it worked flawlessly. Today, I hadn't had any batteries left so I once again plugged it in. After letting the Xbox boot up and send me to
    the Sign-In screen, I had plugged it in for a mere 5 seconds before plugging in the controller, and then suddenly the Xbox shut down. At first, I thought it had crashed which happens every so often so I cold-reset it, waiting for the sign-in to appear and
    plugged it in again...

    Then it turns off again!

    So I had to make sure this was the controller, and not the Xbox, so I decided to replicate it, and lo and behold, it shut off. After 3 times I didn't try to do it again. in fear of damaging the console(as of right now the console still hasn't been turned
    on yet). Does anyone have a clue of what's happening to the console,and how it manages to do this? Would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

    Have you tried using an alternate USB lead to eliminate this as a possible cause of your issue.

    Forgot to reply, I haven't another USB, but it seems that the USB port on the controller itself is damaged(one of the 5 prongs has fallen out, no hope for it) and I think that may be the cause, since I bought a third-party controller and it's been going

    Have you tried buying rechargeable AA batteries?

    I buy 2500mAh batteries and they last about 3-5 days on a single charge depending on the amount of gaming I do. I have two sets, so the one set is in the controller and the other set is in the charger.

    So by the time the set is depleted in the controller, the set in the charger is ready to go go. Just swap them around and your gaming again.

    The normal AA batteries you buy has a much lower mAh (approximately 1700) rating so they don't last that long. Especially cheap batteries. And you can't re-use/recharge them

    how many hours do you guys play a day? I tend to leave mine on for pretty much all day and my plug and play usually lasts the better part of a week I want to say? I tend to charge it if im heading out or going to work
