Xbox One Controller doesn't work on PC via bluetooth after updating

Ok. So Fix bluetooth problems usually works for a while. But when I connect PC xbox controller via USB (older one, doesn't have bluetooth), the one which connected via Bluetooth keeps turning off every minute. And doesn't turn on itself, as it usually happens.

in my case solved as following:

1) Install on PC app Xbox Accessories

https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NBLGGH30XJ3

2) Connect controller to PC via microUSB

3) Update firmware in controller

4) During update remove if exist already Bluetooth paired Xbox controller

5) Pair via Bluetooth

6) Paired and working correctly same as always worked before

It is very strange as it was working all the time until my son connect Xbox controller to another PC via cable then it was impossible to pair again to original PC via Bluetooth. Anyway working again with steps above...

Please run the Bluetooth troubleshooter. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Select "Find and fix problems with Bluetooth devices".

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the troubleshooter.

And make sure that your PC is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates.



Next is to update bluetooth drivers by opening your Device Manager (search for it in the Start menu). Expand "Bluetooth" or "Xbox peripherals".

Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter and select "Update driver".

Choose "Search automatically for drivers".

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and restarting your PC.

Then update controller firmware. Please update the controller firmware using the Xbox Accessories app on your PC or console.

After that is to check for interference because other Bluetooth devices or wireless routers can cause interference.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly connect the controller to your PC using a USB cable to see if it works. This will help determine if the issue is with the PC or the controller itself.

I recently bought a new laptop and a new xbox one controller.

The Xbox One is connected via bluetooth, I've updated the xbox one controller using a USB C cable on the xbox accessories app.

However when I unplug the USB cable, the controller (still connected to the PC via bluetooth) does not work i.e. it is still connected and the bluetooth is recognised but when I try play a game (ubisoft ghost recon breakpoint), although the analogue sticks work, the other buttons (A,X,Y,B) do not work.

After the newest driver update for the controllers, I'm having issues too, I can only get it to work if I use the USB as well, The controller shows "connected" and shows the battery life etc, But no longer opens Game bar, Hopefully someone can report this to Microsoft.
