    Xbox one controller does things by itself


    Hello!

    both my xbox one controllers went nuts in the past week. They do things by themselves, I can’t control them. The buttons sometimes work sometimes not, same with the joystick. It is very strange that both my controllers have the same problem at the same time.
    I tried to restart my console, which didn’t help. I mannaged to update the controllers but it says they are up to date. I don’t know what to do.

    just to be sure, does the same thing happen when the controller is connected to a different PC or an Xbox One console (if available)?

    To determine if this is related to the controller itself or perhaps the device it's connected to

    In regards to the warranty bought at the store, it's not something people in here can assist with since that is a Best Buy specific thing

    Sorry to hear it. If the 360 controller does not work for the game then it may be the controller itself. If you have an Xbox One controller please try connecting it to see if you can use that one.

    Hi Light, Does the controller stay turned on or does it switch itself off when trying to connect to your Xbox One? Do you have anything between yourself and your Xbox One that could potentially interfere with the signal between your controller and the console?
    Does your Kinect sensor work okay?

    I checked and updated but the controller still provides constant up or down input. It also does it when connected to the xbox one console. I guess there is something wrong with the controller itself.

    If all do the same thing it has to be the plug or the xbox itself and not the controller. But you can try these steps. Have you tried a corded controller to check also. I assume you use wireless controllers . If you are doing the steps correctly it must
