Xbox one controller does not automatically connect to PC

    Xbox one controller does not automatically connect to PC


    To be specific, Its a xbox one elite series 2 controller on windows 10 version 1909.

    The controller says it is paired but it isnt connected, or doesnt connect when the center button is pressed. Instead it blinks indefinitely and I always have to manually remove it from bluetooth and re-pair it. The issue returns when I restart the PC.
    The bluetooth (5.0) is builtin on the PC motherboard (X570i), i cant just 'switch usb ports'; there is no separate receiver

    Theres no new update for windows or the xbox accessories app (latest driver)

    A google search shows that this issue is as old as 2016 & hasnt been fixed (all xbox controller models)

    And the controller does not have a driver to download online.

    The xbox controller driver is automatically downloaded when connecting the controller to the PC.

    I have struggled with the same issue using the standard Xbox one X controller. I've tried several things but to my knowledge once you pair the controller back to the Xbox, you will need to unpair it and pair it back up to your PC each time you have
    done so
    I dont have an xbox nearby. I dont understand if the thing has a saved pairing when it was purchased out of the box or reset. It should be able to connect automatically to windows. Hope MSFT releases a fix or there is a solution I havent explored.

    I am assuming this is a device manager issue on your system , Either find a more updated driver if there is one available or get a more up to date controller. That is in fact your computer is pretty current and has all the updates

    it says latest driver is already installed. I also have the Intel driver & support assistant installed.
