Xbox one controller d pad clicking sound?

Here’s a little back story. Within the last 2 weeks ive went threw 8 controllers due to them being defective out of the box. And yesterday i got a new one and it works well except for when i press d pad down it makes a clicking sound. The button works fine
its just thay sound sometimes happens and im not sure if a spring is loose or something or maybe the controller just needs some more game time for the sound to go away. Im tired of exchanging controllers cause something is not right why would they ship defective
controllers is beyond me. I’d love some feedback on my issue, thanks.

Xbox One S LE controller D Pads

Has anyone noticed the difference in the D-Pad quality/build of the Xbox One S LE controllers? The D-Pad feels poorly built and isn't the same as previous controller models. Any controller built after the Xbox One S White controller seems to have this "new"
cheaply built D-Pad that seems to become defective rather quickly.

I noticed this newer D-Pad in the following controllers:

Dawn Shadow(pink/black) controller

GoW4 Crimson/JD Fenix LE controllers

8 failed controllers in two weeks is an extraordinarily high failure rate. The only option for getting any type of replacement would be through Xbox Support.

While scrolling through games/apps/etc. Does the D-Pad on the x1s controller often scroll 3 spaces with each click like the x1 (origional.. not the slim) D-Pad does?

I hated the D-Pad and battery pack on the Xbox 360 controller, so now that Microsoft have fixed the D-Pad and have the batteries built-in I prefer the Xbox One controller. It took me a while to get used to the analog sticks on
the Xbox One.
