Xbox One Controller Burnt Out!

Today I went to use my Xbox one controller on my PC which had been on for a few hours while I've been doing some work and the Xbox controller is plugged via usb as it always (no batteries). Anyway I picked up the controller and it was hot on and around the d-pad l, now the controller is dead!

Doesnt work via usb or batteries now and it was working fine last night! Now it heated up does not work and smell burnt when I smell the bettery compartment.

To be clear ive been using it like this for years and it's plugged into a usb 2.0 port on the PC not a powered hub.

Why has this happened?

Can it be fixed?

Microsoft using rubbish components designed to burn out?

Is hard to tell you exactly what happened.

But an important thing you should know is that any electronic component should not be left connected to power for quite a few hours.

If you are not going to use the device, it is best to disconnect it.

About the repair, you would have to have it inspected with a technician. In case any resistance or internal component of the control has been burned you can get the controller repaired

The lights are broken not burnt out (lights made to last longer than the xbox) and the controller is probably not syncing properly or the xbox is messed up in some way

The only people that are going to be able to help you is the Xbox support team the only way to contact them is by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and requesting a call back or talking to a chat representative.

We understand that there was smoke emitting from your Xbox 360 controller, as you mentioned a reputable battery was in use as well as the controller itself being one month out of warranty.

Xbox accessories only contain 90 days of warranty, if there was a different warranty applied to the controller then it would be best to handle that with the point of purchase
Can you confirm which reputable battery was in use?
Did this happen wirelessly or wired directly into the console within the process of charging?
