    Xbox one controller being recognised as 360 controller?


    I am running a laptop with OS 19043.1052 and when I connect my xbox one controller via USB the computer recognises it as an Xbox 360 peripheral not as an xbox one controller? Help! I am trying to update the firware on the controller using Microsoft accessories but the app will not recognise the controller.

    Nope, tried them all. I don't think you get the problem, the xbox one controller is being recognised as a 360 peripheral by my lap top

    I'm trying to connect to a laptop not a console. I don't have access to my console right now and want to use this controller for mobile gaming but it has limited functionality so I believe the firmware may need updating but my computer recognises it as an Xbox 360 peripherial and not an xbox one controller. Initially it wouldn't recognise it at all, telling me there were no drivers available and the it suddenly recognised it as a 360 controller but ' microsoft accessories' still won't recognise it.
