Xbox One controller assistance required!

I have ran out of batteries for my Xbox One controller. I am trying to connect it to my Xbox via a USB cable. I can't seem to get the controller to turn on. It vibrates when connected then the Xbox button flashes for a while before switching itself off.
I did manage to get it to work after a while last night, but I think that was just luck! The USB cable I am using is working (it is charging every other items I plug it into). What am I doing wrong?

I have found a Xbox Support page that will walk you through the steps on how to get this controller issue resoved. Just click on connect controller to Windows 10 and go from there. Let us know if this fixes the issue.

Once you find one you want look around and the prices you can find are easily 20-30% cheaper on amazon and such. Should be able to get a basic stereo headset with Live voice support for around $50 after shipping and taxes.

don't get trittons they are shite,i had 2 pairs in 2 weeks and both had mic problems,i now have TB PX21's and they are great
