XBox One Controller and Orange Light

The power supply should always have a light on it.

Orange light on power supply/no light on Xbox One = Xbox One is off

White light on power supply/no light on Xbox One = Xbox One is in standby (charge controllers, download updates, etc.)

White light on power supply/white light on Xbox One = Xbox One is on

Before trying to replace it. More than likely, it's the cable. The Xbox one brand cable is terrible and stops working after normal use.

Try this test.

Lay the controller down and plug in the cable. Move the cable very slowly until the orange light stays on. That means it's charging. If there isn't a orange light, then the cord has gone bad.

Orange to white means it's fully charged

Buy another cable first on EBay or something for $2 (non Xbox brand tho)

Hey Josh! I don't think a controller can have an orange light, so I'm thinking this might be a third-party controller. Are you having any issues with this controller, or just seeing an orange light? If you have issues, I'd say try and get your controller
back from your friend. Let us know, thanks!

My Xbox One takes 1 minute and 6 seconds to boot up completely from the moment I hit the controller, I'm not on quick start though, my power brick has the orange light.
