    Hey there,

    Today i tried to connect my headset to my xbox one controller so i can hear and speak with my friends over discord.

    My setup:

    My controller is connected via xbox one wireless usb stick and has charged batteries in it. I connected the headset (taotronics) via 3.5mm audio cable to the jack in the controller.

    The problem:

    I can hear the sound from windows 10 perfectly but Windows isn't showing me any input from the mic.

    What i already tried:

    I found different topics online from people who have the same problem but sadly they are often using the Xbox console or they refer to articles which aren't available anymore. I updated my controller today. The headphones are working fine when connected
    directly to the pc.

    Hey MorseyBaby,

    Thank you for answering to my problem. If i bypass the controller and connect the headphones directly to the PC it is working fine, both sound and microphone.

    In Windows Sound Settings and Discord Voice Settings, have you selected Headset Microphone to be the default input?

    I tested it with my controller on Windows 11 but connected with a cable and it worked perfectly.

    I was having the same problem,

    1. you can try cleaning pit the jack VERY CAREFULLY with a toothpick, but make sure you dont break ot inside, and t

    you will possibly find some lint stuck in the jack and it should clear it out

    2. Your controller/ mic might me old so you might need to get a new one

    On PC it's most likely about how it's recognising the headphones. What happens when you bypass the controller and plug into the PC itself?
