Another option would be to use a optical cable connected to an external amp, or headset .

Or a powered set of speakers with their own internal amp, like the desktop speakers for a pc

Thanks for clarifying what you are asking. The only volume control is under system and audio. There is a headset volume. If this is not there then there is no other way to control the volume.

Thanks for the input guys, but I am looking to see if it is possible to control volume from within Xbox One itself. An external vol control will work, but I would have thought Xbox itself should have a volume control. There are settings for this in the
setup audio, but they do not have any effect on the output volume as played from HDMI. Just looking to see if I am missing the obvious as just about every other unit connected to a tv or monitor has a vol control itself. It talks about vol control if you have
Kinect using voice control, but I don't have the Kinect.

Sorry, but there is no ability to control the volume of the audio when going through HDMI. The only volume control that is available to you is when the 8" port on your controller is being used.

I believe that just buying an adapter to put in control and using a P2 headset
