Xbox one, changed email address, gold member activation

Hi, I have recently changed my cable provider and had to change my email address. My email address with this cable provider was [Mod Removed – Personal Information] and this is also the same email I was using on xbox gold membership. I
created a hotmail address when I changed providers to [Mod Removed – Personal Information]. When i registered my xbox gold membership i registered it under the hotmail address however when i received the confirmation it said it was going
tomupdate my videotron email account. Once i saw this i went to microsoft and changed my email back to the videotron email. Today when i log into my nhl 2019 it says inhave to buy a gold membership. My membership is new. How do i fix this or what number
can i call to get this fixed.

What you'll want to do is add the account as an alias to your Microsoft Account.

If you still have issues with that after adding that account, then I'd recommend logging into the account that had the Gold applied, at
account.microsoft.com click on Payments & Billing > Order History and find the Gold redemption. From there click on "Get order help" under it and that will take you to a page that
has details on how to get in touch with the billing department, who would be the best bet to getting this sorted out.

Thank you for your reply. It was not the gamer tag that needed to be changed but the email address was changed to my more active one. Thank you for the information though.

I've never changed the email address linked to my account, so it is possible that they require you to activate it after a change.

Worth scouring your new email address' inbox and junk folder to see if there is an activation email.

Though from what you describe, it doesn't seem as if that would be the problem.

The only thing that can be done is changing the email address that is associated with you family member to one that you use.

Since the email that you currently have and are wanting to put onto your family members account is already a MS account (if it is a MS server email outlook.com, Hotmail.com, msn.com, live.com) you would not be able to move this current email.

If your family members email is a MS server email and you add an alias to his account and remove his email from that account that MS server email will be gone forever.

Let me see if I can explain it a little better.

Each Xbox profile is associated with ONE MS account once it is put onto that account it can not be changed. Hence NO profiles can be moved between MS Accounts.

The ONLY thing that can be changed is what email address is used to sign into that account/profile.
