Xbox One Black Screen Video Issue

Hi there,

I was booting up my Xbox One recently and was presented with a black screen. I thought it was a cable issue, and double checked everything was in properly, everything was fine. I was getting a signal but the Xbox was outputting a black screen. When I fiddled around with the controller I discovered that the only output I could get was the menu you get when holding down the Xbox button on the controller (the one that let's you turn off your controller and console). I tried restarting and the same issue arose.

I tried restarting my display setting like in this article. Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox is on | Xbox Support

"Your screen is black after turning on the console" > "Reset your Display Settings"

It doesn't seem like a hardware issue, as my TV is getting some kind of occasional output (that menu I was talking about).

Has this happened to anyone else before? Is there any more troubleshooting I should do? Is there a know solution"

The troubleshoot menu isn't opening.

2. Press and hold the Sync button.

I also tried holding the sync and eject button, because some tutorial said that was the way. It also didn't work.

How odd, but the console turn on, but the troubleshooting menu does not appear?

I was finally able to get the troubleshoot menu to work!

I had to unplug the console for 30-60 seconds like "@Onyx Is Here" said. Then I hit the sync eject and start buttons and it opened, following the rest of your steps worked perfectly.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. After powercycling your console and unplugging it for 30 seconds you would need to hold the Sync+Eject buttons on the console for 30-60 seconds till you hear the second start up tone. Only the all digital consoles need just the Sync button held for a reset.
