    Xbox One Background Doesn’t Exist?


    Hello,

    I’m having a problem with my Xbox. I’d like to move the background of my Xbox One (a screenshot) to the background of my new Series X, but I can’t figure out how to do it. The screenshot is no longer in my Xbox storage, nor was it saved online anywhere, but it still exists as the background to my Xbox One. But after setting up my Series X, it gave me the default background rather than taking the old screenshot. Is there any way I can salvage the screenshot from my old Xbox so I can use it in my new one?

    I have, but it wasn’t on there either. If I did save it at some point, I’m not sure I would know where to find it, and I know it’s not on my OneDrive because I checked all the folders available and it wasn’t there.

    It’s an easy enough screenshot to retake, but I was hoping to see if I could find a way to salvage it. Thank you for the reply.

    Unfortunately, there is no way to retrieve your background's source file or transfer it from one console to another. Even if you were to manually create a backup of your Xbox One settings, backgrounds are not among the settings that can be backed up.

    To clarify, have you also checked your OneDrive? perhaps this screenshot was uploaded to it at some point.
