XBOX one as external dvd player

Hello,

I have a new laptop without a cd/dvd. i was wondering if i can use my xbox as dvd/cd player for my laptop as you would if you attach a external drive. If that is possible, how will I go about it?

If I had a DVD player in an external USB case, would the ONE be able to read the media then? would it not just see it as another external drive???

Hello!

No, right now you can't attach and use any external DVD/Blu-ray Player.

The Xbox One S have a Internal DVD/Blu-ray Player. If you have the Xbox One S All Digital you won't have a option ti use Disc only digital media.

unfortunatly this is not possible you can how ever use the xbox as a dvd player and at times possible connect your laptop to the xbox via HDMI cord and use your laptop through the xbox's graphics card, but to answer the question it is not possible to use
you xbox as a external dvd drive

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently inquiring about using your console as an external CD/DVD drive.

At this time, there is currently no way for you to legitimately do this using your Xbox One console. The operating system [OS] of the console would not allow you to do this.

I hope this was able to clear up any confusion this might have caused.
