Xbox One and Xbox Series X UX Gets a Fresh Look and Streamlined Experience

I've just bought the Xbox One X and retired my original Xbox One to the bedroom. I will probably do the same in a few years with the X Series.

Having purchased a day one Xbox One, it took time and numerous dashboard updates to become the experience it is today, so I'll wait a while before getting the X Series, but I'm looking forward at some point to play my original xbox games when they become
compatible (GTA 3 and Vice City).

Xbox Series X >> Vizio SB3651 NS-H6 >> 75" TU7000 4K HDR

My old Xbox One X worked perfectly with this setup. I had ARC features, 4K with HDR, 5.1 audio and Dolby Atmos. The Atmos is a mystery because my bar isn't advertised as being capable but the sound quality was great. I could mention that the Sat/TV port also worked flawlessly but that's a another issue entirely.

I finally get my hands on a Xbox Series X in December '21. The display auto detect goes straight to the lowest potato resolution possible. Manually selecting HDMI I can only get 1080p. I can manually select up to 5.1 audio but it sounds questionable. Now 7.1, Dolby Atmos, & DTS are available to select but absolutely muted.

Why break something nobody asked you to fix? The November update says "streamlined audio experience" Is streamlined a euphemism for omitted capabilities and compatibility now?

A common problem when running newer games on such older hardware like the original Xbox One and Xbox One S. The Xbox One lacks the processing and graphics power of the Series X and S consoles. I'm afraid there isn't anything you can do to improve things
on your Xbox One. You'll need a Series X or S to get a better visual experience.

Luckily if or when you buy a Series X or S, your game will be updated to the Series version for free.

dont let the fact that the xbox one x is gonna get cheaper blind you, the series x is a whole new gaming experience. we're talking going to the movies quality type stuff.

Again, this is a BRAND-NEW Xbox Series X, recently purchased, unopened, fresh out of the box, so for one, these issues should not be present, and two, I will not factory refresh the console. I LITERALLY just got it in the mail a few days ago. It looks brand-new, untouched.
