Xbox One Afterglow Controller stops working on Windows 10

I've bough a microsoft xbox one afterglow controller, compatible with windows 10 and it worked fine for a few months. Top notch experience. I used it to play all of my games that were compatible with controller and it was great. 2 days ago it stoped working well. Buttons don't register correctly, randomly stops working, light modes suddenly change but only ocassionaly does it come back to working well and for never longer than 10 minutes after being turned off for a while.

I tried to update drivers and all other usual tips in this situation, nothing works. It's an actual microsoft controller that should work on a microsoft OS. (And was working well until 2 days ago.) What gives? How can I fix this? Thank you in advance for any possible help.

the Accessories software works fine on my pdp pro controller, you can edit the button layout and change anything that you can with the standard microsoft shoddy controller, you don't need drivers it uses the standard microsoft drivers. the pro controller i use from pdp has the rear buttons too and is a solid controller with trigger adjustments too. never had an issue with it unlike the shoddy microsoft controllers that suffer drift on the left analogue stick or button failures or latency issues.

Afterglow controllers are not made by Microsoft, they are made by a company called pdp. You should check their support page for any info that might be able to help you with your issue. https://www.pdp.com/

You don't download ms software for 3rd party controllers either they use custom controller drivers or software which case you need to visit pdp

Or use the generic windows gamepad drivers without full support

Accessories software is for ms accessories like wireless headset , adaptive or elite or regular controller or ms sidewinder joysticks

Ah yeah, my bad. Just realised the exact category/topic of the thread, although the troubleshooting steps I’ve posted still apply to both Xbox and Windows 10. The controller app is also compatible with both
