Additional information. I did not forget my password. I tried to sign in with the correct password, but I got the error code. Then I followed the steps given by support.xbox.com. Deleted my account from the xbox and tried to add it again. Then xbox told
me that the account was already there. But it wasn't. Ande read the rest in the message above.

I have had contact with an Xbox specialist. I found him through the link you provided and then choosing Contact options > Message with an Xbox gamer. I ex[plained my problem. Nobody replied, and then I got the option to go to a xbox specialist.

Now the problem is solved. I had to do a system reset (factory reset) of the xbox. In menu Settings System Game Console: reset console. Very tricky because I didn't want to loose game saves, games and other content. The Xbox specialist helped me very well
with this.

After the reset I had to configure the xbox and add all our accounts again. After that, when going to a game, the game saves were downloaded from the cloud.

I think one of the system updates earlier this year didn't go well, causing my problem. So thank you for your advice and for others who have the same problem, ask a xbox specialist to help.

I tried the hard reset but it didn't solve the problem. Same message, my account already exsist on the xbox. So somewhere in the config a remnant of my account is still there, is my guess. The delete was not complete. Maybe because my account was also the
parent account of the family account, so I shouldn't have been able to delete this account in the first place.

When I went to the family account on the xbox settings page I did get a message like that, but I already had removed the account on the account settings page, so that same message should have apeared on that page as well. Again that is my guess, I'm still
puzzled.

I will ask for Live support. Thank you for the link, I didn't get the 2nd step, I was redirected to a different (a main contact) page yesterday. (I got looped back and forth). I suggest to send a remark to the customer service people to check their Service
pages. It was very frustrating.

I suppose I have to wait until 5 PM Amsterdam time (SA), because the call back link is not active at the moment?

For the past 2-3 hours there was a major
service alert that may have been contributing to all the issues that you mentioned.

I would suggest setting up a call back from an Xbox Live support agent by following the steps below. The agent would be able to look into (identify) your account(s) and see what might be causing that issue and get it all sorted out for you.


(I would also recommend: Go ahead and perform a
hard reset and power cycle of your console. Hold down the power button on the console for
about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and turn on the Xbox.)
