    Xbox not turning on after being struck by lightning


    I was playing a game when all of the sudden I heard a pop and the Xbox turned off. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I tried to turn it on but nothing happened. I really don’t know what to do.

    Your console does not turn on or it turns on but shows only a black screen? If it really does not turn on, please take a look at:

    If your wall outlet is not the issue and the power cable is not the issue too (you would need to test both separately),your console would need to be serviced. I'm sorry about that.

    Hey, does anybody know if the Xbox warranty does cover being struck by lightning? I just know that a lot of warranties are void if affect by "an act of god." Serious question here

    You have to check with your home.insurance

    Acts.of God aren't covered by any warranty

    Please test the console with other HDMI cables and HDMI ports or even other TVs if possible. If nothing works, depending on how bad the image is, I would suggest you to send it for repair. We users should not open and try to replace anything on our own.

    You could buy a new power cord and see if the Xbox will turn on and work. If replacing the power cord doesn’t work you may want to try what other have suggested about claiming it on insurance.
