Discus and support XBox not turning off Projector in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have an Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 projector which is connected through a Yamaha receiver's HDMI passthrough.     XBox not turning off Projector


    I have an Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 projector which is connected through a Yamaha receiver's HDMI passthrough.

    The XBox won't send an off signal to the projector when turning off.

    • It does turn the project on when powering on
    • I have enabled the "Send power off twice" option (I've tried with and without)
    • It doesn't even attempt to send a single power-off signal because the project shows this on the screen when you press power once and says "press again to power off"
    • I have tried both the "Instant-on" and "Energy-saving" power modes of the console
    • Using the Android XBox app's remote feature, pressing the power button actually does turn the projector off! So that tells me the console knows how to do it - it just won't do it when powering off for some reason

    Have you checked if in the projector settings you can turn off this request? so the projector turn off on first "power off" signal

    Hi, I'm no expert with projectors, I did take a look for the remote codes for that projector so you could manually enter the remote code on the Xbox but didn't have much luck, however if you go into
    settings-display-messages on the projector and turn messages off does that then stop that second power button request message to power off the projector and then allow the Xbox to power the projector off ?

    The Xbox is designed to work with some TV's and cable boxes. There's no support for your projector.

    Instead your projector might have an option to turn off after a period of inactivity and I'd work with that.

    The Xbox has two power modes, one is Instant On (meaning it's always on) or Energy Saving (meaning when you turn off the Xbox it's off)

    You might need to set the Xbox to Energy Saving for your projector to turn off just in case its still detecting a signal from the Xbox.

    Thanks for the reply SoG. It does have one and I set it as low as it can go (10 min). Maybe this is the best workaround I can get.
