Xbox name unable to be changed in Google Home fixed

This is a solution to an issue that doesn't seem to have a readily available answer online. Apologies for the redundancy if it has been solved.

Issue: After an Xbox name change the name would not update in Google Home. It could be "renamed" in the Google Home app but the app will always display the old name in -Name from Xbox- under -Device settings-. This also causes issues for users letting go of old consoles because the old Xbox in the unassigned area in Google Home would be visible and commands could still be sent to it.

Solution: On a mobile device Open the Xbox App and sign in On the Home tab Tap the -Xbox icon- in the upper right corner next to the -notification icon- In the drop down menu Tap -Manage console & games- (Tap -Switch console- if you need to name change a different Xbox) Under the Xbox name and storage details above -Installed games- Tap the -3 dots icon- In the drop down menu Tap -Rename this Console- Rename the Xbox and Tap -Submit- Open the Google Home app and verify the change If the console is not assigned to a room it can be found under the -Linked to you- section in Google Home.

Notes: I did not have Xbox linked to Google Home when I found the solution so I don't know if unlinking and relinking is a necessary step to refresh the names if you're already linked. I have only confirmed the fix on my Android Device but the same options are most likely available on iOS. It has not been verified if this fix works for users that have never used the Xbox app. The issue may not occur for these users, but this is unconfirmed. Tests were run on a Series X, One X, and One S all updated with the latest OS update.
