Xbox (may be) cause to TV’s shorting out?

I have a 5 month old New Gen Xbox One S, on Dec 18th 2023 a around 8 year old TV I’ve been using with xbox’s for years died out while on my xbox. Usually I wouldn’t be confused about this until I used another backup TV with my xbox the next day, which also completely died out and went black. I’ve looked at other posts and seen other people experience this, where multiple TV’s will completely lose power and never turn on again with the only correlation being a shared xbox. I’ve tried all the different types of resets, none working, it’s not the black screen of death because the TV(s) as a whole is fried.

Well as of now I can’t even test anything because both the tv’s are completely dead, no tv signal or anything. And at first both tv’s worked until suddenly it would go black and try to reboot but end up failing and die out.

Hi,

I would be looking at how you have your TV and Xbox connected to the mains supply. If you're using a faulty adaptor or mains extender, this is more than likely the cause.

The current transferred over HDMI is very low, even a short circuit is unlikely to damage the TV.

It could be a blown main board on the TVs.

I currently don’t have any but thats the next thing I was going to try.

The extender I use isnt a surge protector, do you think it was the tvs power surging? I’m just not sure cause the xbox hasn’t been affected and for it to happen 2 days in a row seems somewhat unlikely to me.
