Xbox making long continuous beep when opening large games

And last update:

turns put the beep was coming from my UPS surge protector, which is in the cabinet directly below the xbox. I guess it’s getting overloaded or something. Hasn’t ever done this before.

Ok, so a weird update.

I reset the console while keeping games. This did not work. I deleted Gears 5 to see if it was corrupt (most recent download). Opened Badlands 2, same problem.

The beep always starts when I get to a menu or user input screen. So BL2 beeped until I got to a cut scene, stopped during the cut scene, and then started again when I got to gameplay.

After being in gameplay for a few minutes the xbox crashed and the beep continued even with the xbox off. It is still going after a few minutes. I’ll unplug it if it doesn’t stop.

Time to send it in.

The hard reset did not work.

I tried to start a service ticket yesterday from my phone, but I kept getting an infinite login loop that failed. I’ll try again from my computer today.

It never happened to me personally, but I did research on this kind of problem. Judging by the answers given to other players, this is a problem with the hard disk. If you use an external one, disconnect it and try to see what the situation is like without
it. If you do not use external hard disk it is very likely that the problem concerns the internal hard disk.

I'm not sure that's an overheating issue, but it is certainly strange. When did this start happening? Is this a new issue, or has it always done this? If it's new, do you remember anything changing, or something that's happened between it not, and when
it started? Weather event (hurricane, lightning storm, etc) or changing outlets/location, etc? This also happening with all games, or are there some that it is not happening for?

I'm not sure they have a "making a weird noise" troubleshooting page (sorry, I know that's not really helpful), but I'd recommend you look into opening a ticket to have it repaired at the
Microsoft Device Support page.

With a bit more information on when it started, and other info around it, we might be able to help, but it'll likely still need repair.
