Xbox makes startup chime but won’t turn on

I have the original black Xbox One and it randomly turned off. It was three in the morning so i decided to deal with it the next day. When i hit the button, my Xbox does the startup chime, but it dies roughly halfway to a quarter way through (though it
does the whole thing if the do it enough times). The eject still makes the sound (i havent put a disc in there and i dont want to risk it). What do i do

For the startup chime: Settings>Power & Startup>Power mode & startup>Startup chime>Off

The only thing to do about the menu sounds is turn down your master/tv volume.

Is the console only making the sound when you switch it on and off?

If so then you just need to go into the setting to turn this feature off. To turn the feature off press the Xbox Button on the controller then select the System tab / Setting / Power & startup / Power mode & startup and under options on the left you will
see Statup chime where you can turn this feature off.

Hey there Philly EAGL3S! Thanks for reaching out to us. While there is a feature to turn off the start up chime noise by going so Settings>Power & startup>Power Mode & Startup>Startup Chime.

However, there is no feature to completely disable the chime made when navigating menus or the dashboard on the Xbox One console.
