    I Successfully connected my Xbox one to an external hard drive. I recently re-arranged by entertainment center I needed to power down and unplug everything. After hooking everything back up my Xbox one is not registering the hard drive anymore. How do
    I fix this?

    Mine gets lost every time I put the console to sleep, have to unplug it then plug it back in. Its really quite annoying, it used to work fine in the past but it seems a dashboard update broke something.

    I'm guessing disabling "When Xbox is off, turn off storage" would probably fix it, but really don't want it running 24/7.

    I upgraded to Xbox One X yesterday from the original Xbox One and it still does it. Guess I will have to move any games I want to leave open in sleep mode onto the internal storage. :(

    I would perform a power cycle by holding the power button down for 8 secs. It might clear out any cache and solve the issue

    The external hard drive was around 20% full. After the I formatted the external hard drive it went down to 0% as everything was uninstalled. Thing is i tried transfering Battlefield 1 from the internal hard drive to the now empty external hard drive and
    it started transferring. Battlefield 1 was one of the games that just stopped installing/transferring when i wanted to move from the internal to the external hard drive so i might of fixed the problem. Now i am just concerned that the games that were uninstalled
    will not have anyting saved and i will have lost everything.
