Xbox losing wireless signal

I have been having an issue when playing a couple of games, those being Dead Island 2 and Fortnite where randomly my console seems to lose all wireless connections for a split second and then reconnect,

It also happens sometimes if I press the home button while playing these games and has become an annoying issue.

I use wifi for connection, have an Elite series 2 connected wirelessly and the Microsoft wireless Xbox headset all of which will disconnect and reconnect when the issue happens.

You can try resetting your console, this might improve the situation.

If possible, change your Wi-Fi channel as well, it may be causing interference with other signals in your home, in case you don't know how, call your Internet Provider and ask them to do it for you.

Before you continue, make sure you've got the account sign-in information. You'll need it to log back into your console after the reset.

Then, please, follow these steps to reset your console:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Select Reset and keep my games & apps.

How far away are you from your router? Do you know how strong of a signal your xbox is receiving? It really sounds like you are having a problem with your wireless signal if you are able to connect sometimes and then it loses signal. If you have any more
details it would really help with diagnosing your issue.

Thats the weird part, the signal from wi-fi and connection to the router keeps the same, it justs lose the connection to the internet.

In AUTO mode it loses the IP address and DHCP error appears and in static mode it just loses the internet connection. But the connection to the router, the Wireless keeps the same.

i will test it on my brother in law's xbox one to see if it happens as on my one.

nope the only other thing connecting wirlessly in the house is my laptop but then even that didnt use to affect the wireless but for past month i have it tunred off incase it affects the signal atm, and i know that it cant be losing connection to the router
as it always has full signal, also not sure if this helps but it seems to do it more frequently when i play EA games. My xbox is 2 years old so could it be anything to do with it wearing out so mayb worth while buying the new xbox with built in wireless?
