Xbox live with a Dualshock

I play with a Dualshock 4, and it's never been a problem to play on PC because worst case, I can emulate it as a 360 controller. But Xbox live's service is set up so that executables and game files are behind an iron wall, so I can't set up emulation. DS4windows doesn't work either, is there a workaround for games that don't support other controllers that the xbox ones?

Manually launching 360CE actually works, thanks for the help. But of course it's impossible to change Doom eternal's language...

It has nothing to do with Steam, just an observation. Microsoft went out of their way to prevent third party controllers from working. I sometimes add non-steam games to steam just to use the controller configurator, but here I can't even do that as the exe files are inaccessible.

one thing to try to see if this gets around it, use UWP Hook this allows you to add the gamepass games into the steam library, i know some of the games then allow you to use advanced startup terminal commands as i have done this with a couple of them to increase res, may work for controller use too.

I see, could you confirm for me if the issue is happening in the Xbox app or Steam app?

If it's steam you will need to contact their support or support from Bethesda who is the developer of the game.

Unfortunately, there is no official and native support for DualShock in the Xbox app, it only works on Xcloud.
